Composite-Lapping- and Polishing Wheels

Composite-Lapping- and Polishing Wheels are made of at least one metal or ceramic powder and resin bond. Oil or water soilable diamond fluids are suitable as well as mono or polycrystalline diamond grain. The great advantages of polycrystalline are better results in polishing and clearly reduced processing times.

Characteristical for these tools is getting a more homogeneous processing structure. In comparison to polishing cloths, a higher degree of flatness can be achieved with shorter processing times.

By request we also offer you homgenous wheels made of lead, tin, antimony, copper or aluminium. Upon request we can make a special quotation.

All bi-composite poli-lapping wheels are available with grooves of Type 0, Type 1 und Type 3.

CP-1 Characteristics

  • very hard
  • applicable for lapping and polishing of ceramic workpieces
  • suitable for the prevention of contamination with metal
  • alternative to natural ceramic wheel
  • all diamond grain sizes are suitable

CP-2A Characteristics

  • hard
  • for rough processing
  • suitable when fast abrasion is needed
  • very good flatness on workpieces
  • high endurance
  • alternative to cast-iron wheels
  • good surface finishing on most materialis, especially on metal and ceramics
  • little need of conditioning

CP-2B Characteristics

  • hard
  • very good rough processing
  • high endurance
  • alternative to cast-iron wheels
  • good surface finishing on most materialis, especially on metal and ceramics
  • medium to coarse diamond grain size is recommended

CP-3 Characteristics

  • medium hard
  • all-purpose
  • rough processing and finishing in a single step
  • recommended for metal, ceramics, glass, carbon, platics, etc.
  • medium to fine diamond grain is recommended
  • allows sensitive processing of components made of glass

CP-4 Characteristics

  • very good (Super)Finishing as a pre step to CMP
  • soft
  • achieving of very good surface finishing when using coarse diamond grain
  • high endurance
  • little need of conditioning
